Laboratory/Research
Baker Group’s laboratory and research facility experience ranges from clean rooms, teaching laboratories, research laboratories, vivariums, and insectaries. In addition we have completed FDA approved facilities, plant germination chambers, and biosafety level (BSL) laboratories. We understand that these facilities require stable, reliable heating, cooling, ventilation, humidity, and monitoring systems. Our goal is to provide researchers and building owners with a cost-effective level of sophistication, flexibility, and reliability that meets and exceeds their long-term and short-term research needs.

University of Iowa BioVentures Center
This project was a collaborative joint venture between private industry and the University of Iowa.

This general work building features seed germination chambers, cold seed storage, laboratory areas, offices, general work areas, and receiving/loading docks

Pioneer Hi-Bred International Reid "E" Laboratory
Pioneer needed a 21st century laboratory space that included cold rooms, culture rooms, and entomology rooms. This need was satisfied by building the Reid "E" Laboratory/Office Building which also included highly flexible office space to support the laboratories.

The Lauridsen Group Inc. Lab and Office Building
This project was built to lease to Pioneer Hi-Bred International as a laboratory and office space. Approximately 50% of the building is open floor plan office, with the remaining 50% of the building designed for research activities.

Grinell College Noyce Science Center Laboratories
Baker Group was chosen as the Mechanical and Sheet Metal contractor for the Grinnell College Noyce Science Center. The design of this project started in 2004, and construction was completed in the spring of 2008.

Des Moines University - Science and Education Building
Baker Group provided complete mechanical, sheet metal, and temperature control design/build services for this complicated renovation. While this project added 30,000 square feet of classrooms, offices, and exam rooms to the existing building.
