LEED / Sustainability
Baker Group has made a commitment to provide our clients with sustainable systems. Whether pursuing LEED certification, Green Globes, Energy Star or just implementing energy efficiency improvements, our LEED certified design engineers can deliver sustainable, environmentally friendly, and energy efficient solutions which are better for the environment, healthy for building occupants, and provide long-term cost savings to the owner.

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Headquarters Building
Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa received the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rating for this 605,000 sq. ft office building.

John Deere Credit Phase II Expansion
John Deere Credit constructed this three-story office addition and parking structure on its campus in Johnston, Iowa to accommodate their growing work force. The additional building is roughly 143,000 sq/ft of new open office and conference rooms.

West Lakes Surgery Center - Mercy Wellness Campus Building #4
Baker Group was responsible for the complete design / build mechanical, plumbing, temperature controls, and security systems for this LEED medical facility.

Principal Financial Group Child Development Center
One of the first LEED-certified buildings in downtown Des Moines, this project was awarded the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

Camp Dodge Armed Forces Readiness Center (AFRC)
Designed to achieve a U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating, this project was comprised of three separate buildings; US Army Recruiting (USAREC) building, US Military Entrance Processing Station (USMEPS), Iowa Army National Guard - Freedom Center.

Grinnell College Noyce Science Center Laboratories
Baker Group was chosen as the Mechanical and Sheet Metal contractor for the Grinnell College Noyce Science Center. The design of this project started in 2004, and construction was completed in the spring of 2008.
