Compressed Air
Baker Group offers a complete package of compressed air system components and services including system design and consulting. We can supply and install your plant air compressors, air dryers, air receivers and flow control equipment as well as offer the famous Transair aluminum compressed air piping to give you a complete system. In system design we focus on maximizing energy efficiency and optimum clean air delivery to all points of use.
Compressors & Dryers
Baker Group is Iowa’s only Atlas Copco Platinum Dealer, Iowa’s dealer for Powerex medical grade compressors and vacuum pumps in addition to Curtis air compressors and dryers. Atlas Copco is the world's largest manufacturer of air compressors and air treatment equipment. Curtis has manufactured heavy duty reciprocating compressors for over 100 years. With these leading brand names, Baker Group offers a full range of reciprocating and rotary screw compressors from 3 to 200 HP in model variations including oil-flooded and oil-free. The Atlas Copco rotary screw compressors are available with integral refrigerated dryers and all models are sound-enclosed.
Transair Pipe
Transair compressed air piping was a significant advancement in compressed air, vacuum & inert gas piping when it was first introduced in the early 1990’s. Transair's patented, push-connect and quick-connect, reusable fittings, combined with extruded aluminum tubing, provide unmatched versatility and ease of installation and modification. Total cost of installation is usually less than conventional steel piping thanks to significant labor savings. Plus, air delivery is cleaner and more efficient, corrosion is eliminated, and leakage is non-existent (allowing some of our customers to downsize or shut down compressors). Available pipe sizes now range from ½" to 6" diameter.
Baker Group is Midwest Distributor and the third largest Transair Compressed Air Piping Distributor in the United States, stocking one of the largest inventories outside of Transair itself. Our central location and large Transair inventory allow quick product shipment anywhere in the nation.

Leak Detection Equipment
Baker Group offers the NASA-approved CTRL Systems ultrasound detection equipment. These devices can be used to detect air leaks at distances up to 300 ft. and in close enough to determine which side of a joint is leaking. In addition, the CTRL equipment is proficient in detection of faulty bearings, steam traps, solenoids and valves (contact mode), and bad electrical connections to name a few applications. For compressed air leak detection, the Air Audit Kit is recommended. Air leaks are more expensive than most system owners realize. According to Compressed Air Challenge, each HP that is developed at a point of use (with a pneumatic tool for example), requires eight HP back at the compressor to generate. The efficiency loss is 8 to 1, even in a well-designed, efficient system.
Compressed air is expensive! The last thing you want to let it do is leak! That is where the CTRL equipment pays for itself typically in the first few weeks of use.
