Jacob Mohr

Business Unit/Department: Service

College: Iowa State University

Year: Junior in the Fall

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Why did you pick Baker Group?

I chose to return to Baker Group this summer because of the welcoming company culture, as well as the knowledge and experiences I was able to take away from the previous summer.

What are you looking forward to most about your internship?

I am looking forward to seeing a wide variety of job sites and learning how they affect our work. I am also looking forward to building connections with those within the company, as well as some of our clients.

What do you hope to get out of your summer internship with Baker Group?

I would like to gain a base level understanding of all the different aspects of a job within the Service Business Unit. I would also like to learn how I can bridge my coursework and experiences here at Baker Group together to deepen my knowledge.

What are your future plans/goals?

Upon graduation, I would like to apply my engineering degree to the world of HVAC, maybe even at Baker Group!

Tell us about your family …

My father works for the state of Iowa, with the DOT, and my mother works for Kirkwood Community College. I have an older sister who is a music teacher at Iowa Valley in Marengo, Iowa, and I also have a younger brother who is still in high school at Williamsburg.

What do you like to do outside of school/work?

Outside of work I like to spend my time being active through sports or exercise, playing cards or just spending time with friends and family.

What have you done for fun lately?

For fun, over the summer I play sand volleyball and pickup soccer in the evenings.

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled to? Why?

My favorite place I’ve traveled is Washington D.C. I was able to visit several museums and monuments while there, including the air and space museum.

How would your friends describe you?

I believe my friends would describe me as level-headed but competitive. I don’t like to be overzealous, but I hate to lose, no matter the competition.
