Science and Education Building Addition:
This project added 30,000 square feet of classrooms, offices, and exam rooms to the existing building. Baker Group provided mechanical, sheet metal, and temperature control design and construction for this facility. The addition was completed in 9 months for $500,000 (Baker Group scope).

Science and Education Building Renovation:
Baker Group provided complete mechanical, sheet metal, and temperature control design/build services for this complicated renovation. This 60,000 square foot, 3 story building was completely renovated in 12 months. Challenges faced by Baker Group included utilizing an existing 11'0" floor-to-floor clearance for HVAC and piping. Classrooms, offices, labs (including an anatomy lab), and a small auditorium were features included with this project. The mechanical scope of work was completed for $2.2 Million.

The temperature controls for both projects was TAC/Invensys, using LonWorks for the basis of communication. Classrooms integrated lighting and ventilation via infra-red motion sensors. With no activity in a classroom, lighting was turned off and local VAV boxes went to minimum flow. Control functions for both projects are seamlessly available to the facilities engineer through the web-based graphical user front end.
