Baker Group Safety Director Tracy Haus has been named the chair of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Safety and Health Committee. In this volunteer role, Haus will lead a committee of 20 safety professionals from across the country in developing resources to help members implement strategies that ensure a safer workplace.

Haus has led safety operations at Baker Group for more than two decades. In that time, he has implemented several strategies to ensure the company’s team members are safe on the job site and healthy in the workplace.

“Safety is critical to the success of our people, our clients and our projects,” Haus says. “Our safety program ensures each team member can identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practices for everyone on the job site. We have had great success with our programs, and I feel like we have something to share that can help other organizations like us. That is why I volunteered for the MCAA committee.”

The MCAA Safety and Health Committee is tasked with producing safety and health resources and training programs, informing members about relevant safety and health issues, and administering MCAA's safety awards programs.

Haus has been on the committee since 2011 and serve as chairman since 2013.

Tracy has been instrumental in leading our safety efforts, and we are proud to see him sharing his expertise on a national level.”

MCAA serves the unique needs of approximately 2,600 firms involved in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, piping and mechanical service. MCAA has become renowned for providing members high-quality educational materials and programs to help them attain the highest level of managerial and technical expertise.

“The MCAA works with the best and the brightest industry minds to serve its members,” Bridgewater adds. “This is a tremendous honor for Tracy and for Baker Group as a whole.”

Haus’ term as Committee Chair runs the calendar year 2022.
