First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church upgraded the majority of the facility with new HVAC and plumbing. The existing steam boiler and parts of the existing DX cooling system were removed and two new high efficiency hot water boilers were installed along with a packaged rooftop unit. Cooling was added to the parts of the building that were not previously cooled. The new rooftop unit is a VAV system with VFD's. All equipment is now controlled through DDC controls.
Ductwork was carefully coordinated and designed during the project in close conjunction with the architect in order to maintain high ceilings in several areas. The building was retrofitted with hot water baseboard fintube and unit heaters in lieu of the original steam system. Existing heaters and piping were removed and new hot water systems were installed. New restrooms were installed throughout the building. The existing copper dome was replaced by Baker Group’s architectural sheet metal team.
