Iowa Clinic R2 to N4 Migration

Iowa Clinic R2 to N4 Migration

The Iowa Clinic is a multi-phase medical office complex originally built in 2002. Through tenant improvement and construction additions, medical professionals can accommodate care specialties anywhere from a women’s center, pain management, physical therapy, and medical imaging. HVAC Control and Operations coupled with the future of data analytics gives the management team a means to operate their facilities in the most secure, efficient, and optimized manner.

Iowa Clinic wanted to upgrade obsolete controllers and at the same time, provide a platform that was created with latest cyber security enhancements to meet today’s networking and security challenges.

Baker Group was selected as the Systems Integrator for The Iowa Clinic in 2002. Based on the Niagara Framework and a WEB Based Automation System, The Iowa Clinic has been able to adapt to changing technologies while extending the life of 2 generations of control systems. The Niagara Platform was chosen due to the diversity of systems and the ability to provide the client with alternative solutions. By taking advantage of multiple protocols, we were able to replace controls while maintaining the integrity of the HVAC equipment. As a systems integrator, Baker Group will have migrated 18 years of legacy automation to a modern, state of the automation platform. This includes analytics, custom reporting, and a means for smart buildings planning.
