Madhouse Brewing Company

Madhouse Brewing Company, a microbrewery located in the historic Maytag buildings of Newton, IA, began production of specialty beer in 2010. 

Construction took place in a pre-existing office building, and Baker Group provided design build capabilities to install piping and a new steam boiler to owner provided equipment. HVAC for the production area included make up air for AHU’s, boiler venting, boiler combustion air, and exhaust for production area. 

Baker Group successfully installed the mechanical systems to serve the owner’s requirements including capturing steam and odors associated with the brewery and being able to keep them from migrating to the office areas within the building, installing duct and boiler flues in a building that was not compatible with this type of use, and installing mechanical systems without changing the appearance of the building.
